Things that make me happy

New job
I have my first new shift at the Customer Service job tomorrow. I AM SO NERVOUS. I have this terrible feeling in my gut that I am going to screw up really badly, and then I'm going to get fired. ARGH! But I'm also really excited because it's a new job, and I think it'll be really fun (and because of the great wage, shut up thats not my only reason).

Batman
Batman always makes me happy. He is my happy place. But today I was even more happy, because I found one of those soup thermos things with a Batman design on it. AWESOME! Unfortunately, it was too expensive so I didn't get it. D: But the fact that is exists is pretty damn sweet.

Small Children
Now this might just be the womanly hormones talking, but stacking in the Kids section is extremely difficult sometimes. Not because of the amount of material (though there was a crap load last shift), but because of the extremely adorable children running around. A couple shifts ago, there was the one little girl there, and our conversation went something like this:
GIRL: *runs up* I'm wearing flip-flops! *shows them off*
ME: :D :D :D
GIRL: They're Dora!
ME: :D :D :D :D
And later, after she had jumped around on the letters in the carpet, while saying the alphabet:
GIRL: What are you doing?
ME: I'm stacking books. What are you doing?
GIRL: I'm looking for Berenstain Bear books.
ME: I CAN HELP YOU FIND THOSE!!!
GIRL: :D *runs up to mom* She's gonna help me find Berenstain Bear books!
ME: :D :D :D *finds books*
GIRL: *shows them to mom* SHE FOUND ME BERESTAIN BOOKS!
ME: :D :D :D :D :D :D
SO CUTE! Made my day there. Aw yeah.

Tie-in Novels
Usually, tie-in novels would never make a "Things that make me happy list", because they usually suck. BALLS. But I have happened across ones which actually don't suck: the Supernatural ones. I'm not just saying this because I love Supernatural in an extremely obsessive and stalker-ish way, but because they actually don't suck. In the last one I read, there were two completely awesome things. One, Sam said "mad skillz", complete with letter z. AWESOME. Two, Dean quoted Monty Python. When they found a mass grave full of bones, Dean said "Look at the bones!" in a corny British accent. I LOVE THESE FICTIONAL MEN SO MUCH. OMG ITS KINDA CREEPY.

Misha Collins
I am convinced the world cannot actually contain this much awesome. It is not possible that this man is actually real. I'm considering the possibility that he is an alien. From the planet of Completely and Utterly Awesome. Not only is he a fantastic actor, he is also incredibly hilarious, and uses his popularity (which is immense for a TV actor who mainly has bit parts) to raise money for good causes, such as Haiti and the floods in Pakistan. He has a website called The Random Act (which may be crashed again because of the amount of pledges they are getting for Misha's run) and he and some of the people from the site go around and give out flowers to people on the street, or in some cases, umbrellas. He just likes to brighten people's day. On Sept. 5, he is running a marathon, and for every mile he runs, he asks people to pledge some money, whether it be a penny or a dollar. He is apparently going to twit his location on the race so you can watch him die. TRUFAX. And is possibly the only person I would ever go onto twitter for. Now I read his twitter all the time, so I can see if he is kissing Sarah Palin or being felt up by random perverts on the plane. You should so check it out!  There are some truly fantastic and messed-up pictures of the guys, like this one and this one and this one and this one and this one. He claims he doesn't wear underwear, except for the ones fans give him, and he made a terrible original Syfy movie called Stonehenge Apocalypse. In it, his catchphrase is "It was a robot head." YES. WANT TO SEE SO BAD.
I love this man so much!!!

Epic Supernatural Rewatch AKA I have no life

So it is finally time (I waited all of a day) to kick off my Epic Supernatural Rewatch of Awesomeness, which I am starting with Season 4. From there, I will probably go back to the beginning, go through seasons 2 and 3, then season 5, hopefully all in time to blog about season 6. Aw yeah. :D

Necessary backstory, because I fail at this kind of thing:
Ok, where to start. Supernatural is about two dudes, Sam and Dean Winchester. They run around shooting evil things in the face. They have been hunting a demon who killed their mom when they were young. You discover (in Season 2 I think) that when the demon (named Azazel) killed their mom, he also forced baby Sammy to drink some of his demon. This demon blood now allows Sam to do certain things, like have premonitions or move things telepathically, although up to the end of Season 3, Sam kinda only uses these powers to fail at life.
So at the end of Season 2, Azazel got his little army of demon blood kids together (Sam wasn't the only one) and had a macho/gladiator showdown to find the best one. Dean wasn't with Sam by this point, because Sam was kidnapped on his way to get pie (what a dick move! What kind of person kidnaps someone on their way to get pie? That's just wrong.). Anyways, it all comes down to Sam and this dude named Jake, who has super-strength. Sam and Jake fight, and Sam wins. He goes to kill Jake, but decides not to, because Sam is a lovely person who doesn't shoot other people in the face, even if they want to shoot him in the face. Then Dean shows up. They go to have a lovely teary reunion, which they will later deny happen (because they are too manly for tears, even though they cry almost every single episode), when Jake gets up and decides to be a douche. He stabs Sam in the back, and kills him, before running off. Sam dies, and Dean is very sad. D:
So Dean goes to a crossroad, and makes a deal with a demon (not Azazel, a different one) to bring Sam back to life. In exchange, Dean only has one more year on Earth, before he dies (killed by these nasty little buggers called Hellhounds) and his soul goes to hell to be tortured for all eternity. Not fun. But Dean makes the deal anyway, because he has extremely low self-esteem and co-dependency issues up the wazoo (so not kidding here).
Season 3 passes in such a way. Sam is running around trying to save Dean from Hell while Dean's year runs out. Azazel is finally dead, and another demon has entered the picture, except this one apparently wants to help. Her name is Ruby, and she wants Sam to use his powers, which Dean doesn't want him to do. Dean also wants to shoot Ruby in the face.
Another demon is also in the picture, called Lilith. She's a really old demon, and very powerful, and seems to be in charge of all the demons that got out of Hell at the end of Season 2. She is also the one who holds the contract of Dean's deal, so Sam wants to go and shoot her in the face.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work. Lilith pwns everyone, and Dean's deal comes due. Dean dies, and goes to Hell.
This is how Season 3 ends, with Dean screaming for Sam while being eviscerated in Hell. Oh show, you slay me.
So backstory is finally over. Now we can start with the episode! Hurrah!!! :D

So the first episode is Season 4 Episode 1: Lazarus Rising, or the one in which Dean gets out of hell and angels are frickin badass.

Dean gets out of Hell. Big surprise right? He wakes up in his coffin, and digs himself out, and takes a look around at the flattened scenery around him. Dean = O.o
Dean's first actions after getting out of Hell: breaking and entering, stealing, grand theft auto, nearly getting killed by Bobby (a friend) and Sam, and hitting on a hot chick, who then propositions him (and Sam, lol). Oh Dean, never change.
Anyways, so Dean his being followed by something that likes to turn the TV on, mess with the radio, and blow out windows, while burning out the eyes of psychics who try and look at it. Also, this dude likes burning hand prints on people he takes out of Hell. Happy fun times.
So Dean decides to go off with Bobby and summon the thing, even though they have no idea what the hell they're dealing with.
BOBBY: This is a bad idea.
DEAN: Yeah, I couldn't agree more, but what other choice do we have?
BOBBY: We could choose life.
Lol.
Meanwhile Sam is being bad. He goes off with new Ruby, who is in a new body, and who it is implied Sam is sleeping with, to kill demons...with his MIND. Yes, Sam is a frickin Jedi who makes people vomit up demons. Awesome. That won't come back to bite him in the ass. No way.
Dean and Bobby set up shop in a barn near where Dean was buried and brought back. Then they wait...and wait...and wait.
Finally, stuff happens. The roof starts flapping all over the place, and the barn doors burst open, revealing...John Constantine.

No, not really.

The door bursts open revealing some small dude, wearing an oversized pedo trench coat, and a suit which practically falls off him. He casually walks into the barn, ignoring the lights blowing up in front of him and Dean and Bobby shooting him in the chest. Dean stabs him with the blade which supposedly kills everything, and the dude just pulls it back out, without even blinking. Then he knocks out Bobby and says that he has to talk to Dean...alone. Bow chika bow bow! Not really. But some fangirls wish.
This is Castiel, the being that pulled Dean out of Hell. He is also apparently an Angel of the Lord. I am completely in love with this character. I seriously had to pause this scene about 20 times just so I could squee over absolutely ever expression he made and everything he said. Not kidding. I think I've hit an all new low with this. Maybe I should seek help.
Anyway, Castiel completely bitchslaps Dean's doubts about everything (which is fricking awesome) and then says that God has work for Dean (which is fricking awesome).

For me, this scene went kinda like this:
CASTIEL: *walks into barn, while getting shot and not caring*
ME: Damn, this guy is badass.
CASTIEL: I'm the one who gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition.
ME: THIS GUYS IS AMAZING, HOW DOES HE MAKE A RIDICULOUS LINE LIKE THAT WORK?!? AND SOUND BADASS?!?
CASTIEL: *looks confused and hurt that Dean doesn't believe him*
ME: OMG THIS GUY IS ATTRACTIVE.
CASTIEL: *while staring soulfully* (to Dean) You don't believe you deserve to be saved.
ME: OMG HE UNDERSTANDS DEAN'S ISSUES. WTF THIS IS AWESOME WHO IS THIS GUY?!?!
CASTIEL: I'm an Angel of the Lord. *shows off pretty wings*
ME: ZOOOOOOOOMGGGGGGG
:D :D :D :D :D
*finishes scene, hyperventilates*
Wait...
*feels vaguely dirty about thinking the Angel is hot.*
Meh, this show is already taking blasphemy to a whole new level, might as well just join in.

And that is basically episode one. Episode two will coming up momentarily (after I actually watch the thing...yes...and I'm not just watching for the Castiel scenes, shut up.

Various Stuff of Awesomeness

Today we had the staff opening at the new Branch, which was epic fun times. We milled around, ate things on sticks, and all the adults watched the kids movie they had going while the kids went around and did other stuff. Then we had random speeches from random people, that went kinda like this:
DIRECTOR DUDE OF EVERYTHING: Thx for making a library. We're awesome.
US: *random applause*
RANDOM OLD BOARD PERSON: Dudes, we made a library.
US: *random applause*
ME: Who is this person? I want more meat-on-a-stick.
Then we got to see the library. I gave my dad the grand tour (which he didn't seem very interested in), before everyone started to go home. Then the amazing happened.
WE WERE ALLOWED TO TAKE STUFF WITH US.

NEW STUFF.

AWESOME STUFF.

I think I had a small aneurysm when I found out, followed quickly by the crushing despair of realizing I had forgotten my library card. But I was offered hope by the kindly Elisabeth, the Uber Librarian of Awesomeness.

ELISABETH: You can enter in your library ID number on your card into the checkout. Do you know it?
ME: :D :D :D :D

So that is what I did. I now have the fourth season of Supernatural, a season of The Closer (for my mommy) and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. I am still having fits of joy over this, which makes me realize how lame my life is. I think I am going to marathon Supernatural Season 4 this week, and then post episode play-by-plays. Because I start commenting on a series halfway through it. I'm just classy like that. Also, I may do a meme, which is also extremely classy. Oh, yeah, I'm the definition of classy-ness.

In other news, I finally saw Inception yesterday.
ME: *sits down, clutching bag and saying OMG over and over under my breath*
MOVIE: I AM THE MOST AWESOME THING SINCE EVER. IF TWO AWESOME THINGS GOT TOGETHER, HAD AN AWESOME ROMANCE, HAD AWESOME SEX, AND HAD AN AWESOME LOVE-CHILD-MOVIE, I WOULD BE THAT AWESOME LOVE-CHILD-MOVIE.
ME: *dies of awesome*
So yeah. Everything is pretty damn awesome.

BEST SHIFT EVAH!!!!

So I had possibly the greatest shift known to mankind a couple of days ago. But first, some back story.

In my town I work at the public library. We are opening a new branch on the other side of town (which is really fun, but lots of work). Speaking of, I got an email saying we still 16,000 more materials to shelve there. D:

Anyway, the building is still being worked on by the construction guys, and one the things that they apparently have to do (although I think its just all the sadists in the group having their fun), they have to test the fire alarm in the building. For 30 MINUTES. A half an hour with the most annoying, aggravating ringing sound you can imagine. And we were supposed to shelve during this. So me and the other pages (a fancy name for peeps who put crap on shelves) tried to work, but after about ten minutes we said “Screw it” and retreated to outside the building (which wasn’t much better, and to get outside we had to pass through the Ringing Gauntlet of Doom, where the volume of the fire alarm was magnified by a factor of 10 x 5 gazillion).

So we got outside, and a couple of pages hid in their cars, until a couple of the other peeps (these are not the peeps that put stuff on shelves, they are the peeps who unpack boxes and check books. Don’t get confused!) came out of the building. We stood there for about 30 seconds, before we had this exchange:

ALL: *cringing from the pain of the fire alarm*
PAIGE THE LIBRARIAN, NOT THE PAGE: LET’S GO TO DAIRY QUEEN!!!!!
US: :D :D :D :D

So all five of us piled into Paige’s car (which is small) and we swooped around all the Terrible Traffic Circle of Darkness, until we got to Dairy Queen. As we were about to go into it and get ice cream, it began to pour, like hard core precipitation man. So we ran like hell into Dairy Queen, getting soaked in the process, got our ice cream, and sat around eating it while thunder boomed and lightning flashed. Then, the rain stopped, so we went back.

We arrived in the parking lot, and the page in the front seat opened the door, and what should we hear? The terrible ringing, still going!!!! In unison, we all groan and get out of the car, looking like this. We start walking toward the building, dragging our feet, our depression fighting with our ice cream high. Then the alarm blessedly stopped. We all yelled for joy, right there in the parking lot.

FIRE ALARM: I’M GONNA FINALLY STOP BEING A DOUCHE AND STOP RINGING.
US: YAY!!!!!!! XD
CONSTRUCTION DUDES: O.o

So then we all skipped to the building, and the world was full of rainbows and unicorns. Elisabeth, The Uber Librarian of Awesomeness met us at the door.

ELISABETH THE UBER LIBRARIAN OF AWESOMENESS: Guess what guys? I BROUGHT ICE CREAM SANDWICHES FROM THE MAIN BRANCH!!!!
US: LOL!!! :D :D :D :D :D

WHY HALLO THAR

This is my very first official post of my very first official blog. Hello! What is your name? What is your quest? What is your favourite colour?
All Monty Python homages aside (and if you didn't get that, this blog is probably not for you), maybe I should introduce myself.
I am a noob in the blogger world. I have an unhealthy fixation on random nerdy and geeky things, including comic books and TV shows, and everything in between. I live on a small llama farm in the German countryside, where I indulge in my internet addiction and let the poor llamas fend for themselves. Wondering what I look like? Here's a picture of me on a family vacation to the beaches of Southern America. That's me in the front.
Anyway, about the blog. This thing will be used to vent my rants about the things in the title. I will be blogging episode play-by-plays of Supernatural and NCIS (the latter for my OM NOM friend in Thailand) and movie reviews for random films that I see. I am also contemplating relieving my Misha Collins obsession by way of the blog, and posting about everything that I see him in (which will be a lot, as I plan on watching every single movie and show he is in, no matter how terrible). Expect randomness and things which make little, if any, sense. Onward! :D
